Foreign investment in Mexico grows 49.2% in the first half of 2022
The result of the first semester is the result of the difference of 33,510 million dollars recorded as inflows and 5,998.4 million dollars in outflows.
The preliminary registered foreign investment came from 2,376 companies with foreign capital participation, 2,649 trust agreements, and 16 foreign legal entities.
By sector, manufacturing received 34.3%; transportation 16.3%; information in mass media captured 14.2%; financial and insurance services, 13%; trade, 6.1%; and mining 4.7%, while the remaining sectors captured 11.4%.
By country of origin: the United States contributed 39.9%, followed by Canada, with 10.3%; Spain, with 6.8%, and Argentina with 5.9%.
The United Kingdom represented 3.3%, Germany 2.6%, and the rest of the unspecified countries contributed the remaining 31.2%, added to the Ministry of Economy.
The figures are a reflection of the economic performance of Mexico, which grew 1% annually in the second quarter of 2022.
