Ontario Seeks to Increase Trade and Investments with Mexico
Ontario, the Canadian province, is focused on strengthening its commercial relationship with Mexico to increase bilateral trade and investments. With a trade exchange valued at 34 billion dollars, Ontario’s Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation, and Trade, Victor Fedeli, highlights the importance of ensuring a successful review of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA 2.0).
Fedeli acknowledges the positive impact of the USMCA on both economies and emphasizes the need to seize long-term business opportunities. Ontario has free trade agreements with 51 countries, providing Mexico with the opportunity to produce in the province and export its products tariff-free to other parts of the world. Growth opportunities are highlighted in sectors such as baked goods and beverages.
Additionally, Ontario is open to migration and seeks to attract labor to meet the workforce demands of companies established in the region.
